Laura E. Coltin Ogden
Laura Coltin Ogden is an associate with the firm. Laura’s practice includes matters involving employment discrimination and retaliation, wrongful discharge, separation and severance agreements, non-competition and trade secret litigation, employee investigations and discipline, wage and hour issues, unfair labor practice charges and collective bargaining negotiations. She also advises clients on litigation avoidance techniques, including compliance with federal labor and employment laws such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, COBRA, the National Labor Relations Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and related state statutes.
Laura is a 2002 graduate of Harvard College (cum laude) where she studied Psychology and Spanish. Laura graduated from Harvard Law School in 2005. During law school, she completed internships at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and with the District Attorney’s Office at the Boston Municipal Court. Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, Laura served as a law clerk to the Hon. Jaime Pieras, Jr., in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Laura was also an associate at the law firm Nixon Peabody LLP in Boston, MA, where she focused on business litigation. In 2007, Laura was selected as a “Rising Star” in the field of business litigation in a poll conducted by Law and Politics Media, Inc. In 2006, Laura received the William Rodman Peabody Award for her commitment to pro bono service.
Laura is a member of the state bar of Massachusetts, and she is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
