Michael Clarkson

Michael Clarkson is a partner with Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts and a member of the firm's Management Committee. Mr. Clarkson was named a "Super Lawyer" in Boston Magazine's 2008 New England Super Lawyers edition. Previously, Mr. Clarkson was named a "Massachusetts Rising Star" in Boston Magazine's 2005, 2006 and 2007 New England Super Lawyers editions.

In his work with Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP, Mr. Clarkson litigates cases and counsels large and small private employers concerning employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, non-compete, wage and hour, employment contract, and personnel policy issues. Mr. Clarkson is licensed to practice in California and Massachusetts and regularly appears in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies across the country. Mr. Clarkson frequently lectures and leads seminars on employment law and human resource issues.

Mr. Clarkson is Vice Chair of the Employment Law and Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. Mr. Clarkson is also a member of the Board of Directors of Operation A.B.L.E. of Greater Boston, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide employment and training opportunities to a diverse population of older workers and to provide assistance to employers on aging workforce issues.

Before joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP, Mr. Clarkson worked in California as a litigation associate for Finnegan, Marks & Hampton and as a staff attorney for the Environmental Law Foundation. Mr. Clarkson received his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and is currently a member of the ILR School's Alumni Board of Directors. Mr. Clarkson received his law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law where he represented the University at the National Moot Court Competition.
