Philip G. Boyle

Phil has practiced labor and employment law in Boston since 1976, advising clients in both the public and private sector. He joined Morgan Brown & Joy in 1998 as a partner. A significant portion of Phil's practice is in the area of collective bargaining and labor arbitration. Over the course of the past twenty years, Phil has had a particular emphasis on interest arbitration, representing the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, as well as the City of Boston, in complex contract formation disputes.

Phil is a 1971 graduate of Yale University, with a degree in political science. He received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1975. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association, serving as arbitrator and mediator, as well as a College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Fellow. From 2002-2004, Phil served as the Chair of the Association of Yale Alumni and served on its Board of Governors from 1995-2006. A long time member of the Board of Trustees of the Learning Project Elementary School, he served as its Chair from 1999-2005. Active in community and civic affairs, Phil has served as a member of the Beacon Hill Architectural Commission, a board member of the Hill House and a youth baseball coach for 19 years.

Phil is a 2006 recipient of the Yale Medal and was the 2007 Management-Legal Counsel recipient of the Cushing-Gavin Award, an award recognizing labor relations professionals in Massachusetts for their "competency, vision, and integrity they bring to labor relations."
