Rachel E. Muñoz
Rachel is an associate at Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP. She represents both public and private sector clients in a variety of labor and employment matters. Her labor law practice includes representing employers in contract negotiation, collective bargaining, grievance administration and arbitration, and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Massachusetts Division of Labor Relations, and state and federal courts. In her employment law practice, Rachel defends employers in a wide range of workplace claims, including claims of employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful discharge before courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and numerous state enforcement agencies. Rachel also counsels clients on day-to-day human resources matters, including employee investigations and discipline, wage and hour disputes, drug testing, employment policies and handbooks, and employment law compliance.
A 1998 graduate of Grinnell College (with Honors; Phi Beta Kappa), Rachel earned her law degree at Northeastern University School of Law in 2006. Rachel also holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After graduating from law school, she served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP, Rachel practiced law at the Boston firm Sandulli Grace, P.C. There, her practice focused on traditional labor law. She represented clients in collective bargaining, contract arbitration and administration, as well as unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, and retirement benefits matters in state court, before arbitrators, and in administrative proceedings at the Massachusetts Division of Labor Relations, the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission, and the Division of Unemployment Assistance.
Rachel is a member of the bar of Massachusetts and admitted before the federal District Court in Massachusetts. She currently serves on the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni Board of Directors and the Boston Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Section Steering Committee where she is the MCAD liaison. Rachel is also a member of the American Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Section, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, and the Defense Research Institute.
