Tracy Thomas Boland

Tracy Thomas Boland is a partner with Morgan, Brown & Joy, having joined the firm in 2002.  Tracy counsels her clients on the full range of employment law issues, including hiring, background checks and consumer report compliance, performance management, internal investigations, discrimination and harassment, leaves of absence, wage and hour violations, terminations, reductions in force, and tort-based claims arising in the workplace.

Tracy also drafts and revises employee handbooks and other workplace policies, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and severance and settlement agreements.

When her clients' compliance is tested, Tracy ardently represents them before Federal and State administrative agencies, Federal and State courts and in arbitration.  Tracy also has extensive experience and success in resolving matters short of trial whether through direct negotiation between counsel or in mediation.

Tracy's clients and firm clients whom she represents regularly have both a local and national presence and run the gamut from non-profit organizations to small business to leaders in their respective industries. Some of these clients include: General Dynamics, Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., Pine Street Inn, South Shore Savings Bank, and Acushnet Company.

Tracy is a graduate of the University of Vermont (B.A., 1994) and New England School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1997).  After graduating from law school, Tracy served as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the Massachusetts Superior Court and Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.  Just prior to joining the firm, Tracy practiced at K&L Gates (then known as Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP).  Tracy is a member of the bars of Massachusetts and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Tracy is a certified trainer through the MCAD's Certified Harassment and Discrimination Train-the-Trainer Courses.  Tracy is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association (Employment Law Section), the Boston Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), the Women's Bar Association, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, and the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy has been recognized repeatedly as a "Rising Star" in the fields of employment law and employment litigation defense by Boston Magazine's Super Lawyers edition.

Tracy volunteers her time on City Year's Legal Community Leadership Committee and as a Vice Chair for City Year's Women's Leadership Breakfast.

In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and young twin sons, as well as cooking and gardening.
