Chambers USA 2008 Ranks MBJ Among The Elite Labor and Employment Defense Firms In Massachusetts

Once again, Morgan, Brown & Joy has been recognized for its outstanding work in the fields of Labor and Employment Law by a leading national survey that rates business law firms.  In 2008, Morgan, Brown & Joy received high praise from Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers.  Morgan, Brown & Joy was rated among the top Massachusetts management-side firms with a number of individual attorneys noted for their leadership in their field.

Specifically, Chambers wrote:

The Firm: One of several high-profile boutiques in Massachusetts, this firm is seen by many as “a super outfit full of talented lawyers.” The group handles a variety of management-side employment work although it is arguably best known for its skill in handling traditional labor matters. Employment litigation is also high on the firm’s agenda and it deals with everything from class actions and discrimination disputes to employee fraud and wage and hour claims. Furthermore, capitalizing on the trend toward alternative dispute reputation, the team has developed a specialist ADR group. It has acquired a solid reputation in the region and frequently works for clients across the state.

The Lawyers: “A spectacular negotiator and litigator,” Robert Joy maintains a busy workload, and in tandem with his skills in the courtroom, Joy is chair of the firm’s management committee. He has enjoyed a long and distinguished career appearing before both state and federal courts. “Straight shooter” William Joy is an experienced player in labor relations law; while Laurence Donoghue is applauded for his broad-based practice. A well-respected attorney, he is celebrated for his “sound judgment and solid representation.”

This is Morgan, Brown & Joy’s fifth consecutive year of recognition from Chambers.

The Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers ranks law firms and individual lawyers.  According to its website, Chambers USA researchers conducted over 14,000 interviews of attorneys and clients across the United States in order to compile its rankings.  The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client.
