Jillian Guilfoyle counsels employers in labor and employment matters related to both private and unionized workforces. With her current focus on employers, Jillian advises clients on issues relating to collective bargaining, workplace discrimination, nonpayment of wages and grievance arbitrations. Jillian is known for her diligence, organization and attention to detail.
Jillian uses her honed investigation, research, writing and negotiation skills to devise unique case theories and strategies in order to resolve matters for clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Jillian gained extensive and particular experience at a boutique labor firm. In this role, she represented public sector unions and municipalities in connection with a range of collective bargaining scenarios. Within the labor context, Jillian handles settlement agreements, grievance resolution, the Education Reform Act arbitrations and other related matters. She also advises clients on compliance with FMLA and other leave policies, harassment, discrimination and retaliation matters. Jillian’s experience includes Superior Court litigation, grievance arbitration, disciplinary hearings, dismissal arbitrations and state administrative hearings.
During law school, Jillian interned at the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards where she was responded to public inquiries on the Minimum and Prevailing Wage Hotline. Jillian advised callers on various labor & employment topics and provided guidance on Massachusetts General Laws concerning Sunday and holiday wage requirements, the Fair Labor Standards Act, youth work permits and child labor laws.
