Overview
Nicholas Balatsos advises employers in labor and employment matters. Nick helps clients with many aspects of the employer-employee relationship including negotiations, contract drafting, disciplinary issues, reasonable accommodations, handbooks and policies, and other agreements affecting daily operations. Nick’s labor experience includes representing unions in bargaining, arbitration, disciplinary meetings, retirement, and with unfair labor practice and discrimination charges.
Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, Nick worked as a hearing officer for the Department of Labor Relations within the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. While in this position, Nick investigated unfair labor practices and issued complaints and dismissals. Before going to law school, Nick was a daily newspaper reporter in Wyoming and Montana, covering crime and education. He has also contributed reporting to major newspapers, including the New York Times.
