Amy Carlin to Speak at DRI Webcast on “Ethical Issues in Settlement”

Amy Carlin is the Program Chair and a speaker for a Defense Research Institute (DRI) webcast to be held on December 13, 2011, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. EST.  The webcast, “Ethical Issues in Settlement – Settlement of a MSP Case," will focus on ethical rules applicable to the settlement process, both in negotiating a settlement and drafting a settlement agreement.  The webcast will feature a practical case study that implicates the Medicare Secondary Payer Act to explore not only the ethical issues inherent in the settlement of cases – and how all attorneys can avoid ethical conduct as they interact with clients and opposing counsel to bring a case to resolution – but also to the nuances brought to the process by the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
