Massachusetts Port Authority’s Associate Chief Legal Counsel Karen E. Romito Re-Joins Morgan, Brown & Joy

Boston labor and employment law firm Morgan, Brown & Joy, LLP announces that former Associate Chief Legal Counsel of the Massachusetts Port Authority, Karen E. Romito, has joined the firm as Of Counsel.  From 2002 – 2004, Romito was an associate at Morgan, Brown & Joy, and later joined the Massacusetts Port Authority, where she served as Legal Counsel, Litigation (2008 – 2011), Senior Legal Counsel, Litigation and Employment (2011 – 2017) and Associate Chief Legal Counsel (2017 – 2018).

Romito has extensive experience representing employers in administrative proceedings before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, litigating employment matters in state and federal courts, and drafting and negotiating settlement and employment agreements.  She also conducts internal investigations and employee interviews, and advises human resources on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employee misconduct, leaves of absence, and state ethics law violations.  Romito previously worked as a litigation associate in a mid-sized Boston firm, where her practice focused exclusively on employment litigation and tort defense for a Fortune 100 retailer.

Romito is a graduate of Wellesley College and Suffolk University Law School (cum laude). She is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
