Morgan, Brown & Joy Partner Catherine Scott to Present at the FBA Massachusetts Chapter’s Annual Judicial Reception
Boston labor and employment law firm Morgan, Brown & Joy announces that partner Catherine Scott will present at the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA) Massachusetts Chapter’s Annual Judicial Reception on June 3, 2025. As President of the FBA’s Massachusetts Chapter, Scott will provide remarks on the state of the federal judiciary in Massachusetts and the work of the FBA’s Massachusetts Chapter.
The reception, which will be held at the Boston Harbor Hotel’s Wharf Room, will gather judges, lawyers, and members of the legal community to celebrate the judiciary. This year, the FBA will honor Chief Judge David J. Barron of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Scott is a litigator and labor and employment lawyer defending and advising employers. She helps companies navigate workplace allegations such as employment discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, breach of contract, and wage and hour class actions, among others. In addition to appearing in federal and state courts, she appears before government agencies including the EEOC, MCAD, and Department of Labor.
Scott was elected President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) for the 2024-2025 year, and has been an active member of the association since 2019 when she began as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division.
Founded in 1920, the FBA is dedicated to the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law. Members run the gamut of federal practice: attorneys practicing in small to large legal firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary. The FBA is the catalyst for communication between the bar and the bench, as well as the private and public sectors.
The Massachusetts Chapter of the FBA is responsible for programming in the state, including the popular Breakfasts with the Bench with federal judges and the annual Judicial Reception honoring a federal judge. The chapter currently has over 200 members.
