Morgan, Brown & Joy Partner Jeffrey S. Siegel to Speak on BBA Panel, “Navigating the FTC’s Non-compete Ban”

Morgan, Brown & Joy partner Jeffrey S. Siegel will speak on the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) virtual panel, “Navigating the FTC’s Non-compete Ban,” on May 8, 2024. Along with fellow panelists, Siegel will provide an overview of the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) recently-announced Final Rule prohibiting most non-compete agreements and discuss its exceptions, practical implications for both employers and employees who may be affected, and the ongoing challenges to the Final Rule’s implementation. Siegel represents employers in virtually every labor and employment scenario. He counsels clients in day-to-day human resources matters, including employment policies and handbooks, wage and hour matters, employee compensation and classification matters, bonus and commission plans, layoffs, restrictive covenants, and employee leave issues. He regularly represents clients at administrative agencies and in court to defend employers from claims made by employees. Siegel also drafts agreements and litigates to enforce or defend claims related to noncompetition, nonsolicitation and trade secrets agreements.
