Morgan, Brown & Joy’s Nicholas DiGiovanni to Discuss Graduate Student Unionization at Hunter College National Center’s 51st Annual Conference

Morgan, Brown & Joy partner Nicholas DiGiovanni will speak on the panel, “Graduate Student Representation Election Outcomes, 2020-2023: Navigating a New Era of Graduate Student Unionization,” at the Hunter College National Center’s 51st Annual Conference on March 19, 2024. Along with fellow panelists, DiGiovanni will provide expert insight on the last four years of graduate student unionization election outcomes and the implications for college and university administrators and labor representatives moving forward. 

The conference, themed “New Crossroads in Collective Bargaining and Labor Relations in Higher Education and the Professions,” will include additional panels on emerging issues, trends, and predictions in higher education collective bargaining and labor relations, and will be hosted at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College in New York City. DiGiovanni brings over five decades of experience to his diverse clientele and has handled cases and issues in virtually all aspects of labor and employment law. Over the course of his illustrious career, DiGiovanni developed a particular niche in labor and employment matters affecting colleges and universities, focusing especially on collective bargaining with faculty, staff and graduate student unions, proceedings before state and federal labor board agencies, arbitration cases, advice on union organizing, and management training. He is one of the foremost authorities on higher education labor relations in the country and represents many institutions of higher education around the country.
