Pender is a partner at Morgan, Brown & Joy. He provides labor and employment law advice and litigates matters on behalf of public and private sector employers. Much of his practice involves providing legal advice and guidance to clients regarding both union and non-union personnel to help employers navigate the often complicated array of federal and state laws and regulations affecting employment. He represents a diverse client base, including municipalities, school committees, housing authorities, municipal light plants, state agencies, corporations, small privately-held companies, and colleges and universities. Pender has significant labor law experience in collective bargaining and contract negotiation; grievances and arbitration; and representation of employers before the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations (DLR), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and other administrative agencies.

A firm associate, Davies counsels employers and management teams in labor and employment law matters. She advises businesses on handling sensitive workplace issues such as hiring, performance, separations, severance, discrimination, and harassment, among others. As an employment litigator, Davies defends clients in all stages of litigation, including drafting and responding to discovery, writing and litigating motions, and preparing for and appearing at various hearings at the trial and appellate levels. Davies represents employers in state courts and before administrative agencies, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD).

The MMA is a membership association representing the interests of the cities and towns of Massachusetts. Its members are cities and towns as well as their elected and appointed officials, including mayors, councilors and aldermen, selectmen and select board members, municipal managers and administrators, finance committee members, and personnel administrators from across the state. The MMA brings together these members to develop and advocate for unified policies, and to share information and work together to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal service delivery.
