Morgan, Brown & Joy Continues to Expand with Addition of Two Associates

Boston labor and employment law firm Morgan, Brown & Joy is pleased to announce that Nicholas S. Balatsos and Grant D. King have joined the firm as associates. They will work closely with firm partners to assist Fortune 100 corporations, educational and health care institutions, public sector employers, and small businesses across New England with a wide range of labor and employment matters.

Balatsos helps clients with many aspects of the employer-employee relationship including negotiations, contract drafting, disciplinary issues, reasonable accommodations, handbooks and policies, and other agreements affecting daily operations. His labor experience includes collective bargaining, arbitration, disciplinary meetings, retirement, and unfair labor practice and discrimination charges.  

Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, Balatsos was a hearing officer for the Department of Labor Relations within the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, and prior to that worked at a Boston-based law firm specializing in labor and employment matters. He earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, cum laude. In addition, he received a Master of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. 

King works with clients as a litigator and advisor to resolve disputes regarding contracts, disciplinary issues, harassment and discrimination allegations, retaliation and more. As a methodical and organized attorney, he handles all stages of litigation including due diligence and research, case strategy, depositions, documentation and case management.

King was a co-op at the Massachusetts Securities Division and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Marianne B. Bowler in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, King was an associate handling litigation matters in the Boston office of a mid-sized law firm. King earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, and a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross, cum laude.
