Morgan, Brown & Joy partners Jaclyn Kugell and Nicholas DiGiovanni will present at the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) 2023 Higher Educational Conference on March 2, 2023. Kugell will speak on the panel, “Managing ‘Post-Covid’ Student and Employee Issues.” DiGiovanni, who also served on the conference’s advisory committee, will speak on the panel, “Your Graduate and Undergraduate Student Workers Are Unionizing. Are You Prepared?”

Kugell is an established employment lawyer who counsels business owners and management through virtually every scenario surrounding the employer-employee relationship. Over the course of his illustrious career, he developed a particular niche in labor and employment matters affecting colleges and universities, focusing especially on collective bargaining with faculty, staff and graduate student unions, proceedings before state and federal labor board agencies, arbitration cases, advice on union organizing, and management training. He has also negotiated dozens of initial and successor faculty, staff and graduate student collective bargaining agreements at both public and private institutions, including community colleges, private four year institutions and R1 Doctoral research universities. As a result, DiGiovanni is one of the foremost authorities on higher education labor relations in the country and represents many institutions of higher education around the Northeastern region of the country.
