Philip Boyle and Keith McCown Publish Op-Ed Piece in Boston Herald on Evergreen Clauses in Public Sector Contracts

On February 9, 2011, the Boston Herald published an Op-Ed piece written by Philip Boyle and Keith McCown on public sector bargaining.

The article (available here) discusses the importance of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision in the Boston Housing Authority case, in which the Court held that “evergreen” clauses that continue public labor contracts beyond three years are illegal.  In the article, Phil and Keith urge lawmakers to reject efforts by public sector unions to pass legislation that overturns the BHA decision.
