Location: 200 State Street, Floor 11, Boston, MA 02109

Time: Registration 8:00 a.m.; Program 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

All employers face challenges in managing employees to perform at their maximum potential, and disciplining such employees when their performance or conduct warrants such action. The challenges for public employers are especially daunting. Union contracts, culture and past practice, and restrictions placed by constitutional or statutory provisions often create substantial burdens on employers who seek to effectively manage the workplace. This seminar will provide public sector managers with the tools necessary to effectively manage employees so that the mission of the organization can be accomplished.

Among the topics to be discussed:

-- legal restrictions as to the discipline of public employees

-- how to navigate contractual provisions impacting performance management

-- how to change a culture of non-accountability

-- effective tools for taking control of the workforce

There is no fee for this program. Please note however that space is limited.
