Morgan, Brown & Joy Attorneys Allison Cherundolo and Deepa Desai Discuss New Overtime Rules for MSA Legal & Compliance Webinar

Morgan, Brown & Joy attorneys Allison Cherundolo and Deepa Desai co-presented on “New Overtime Rules”  as part of the Massachusetts Staffing Association’s (MSA) Legal & Compliance webinar series on March 11, 2020. They discussed the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) final rule, effective as of January 1, 2020, which updates and revises the “white-collar” overtime exemption regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The rule increases the minimum salary level for the exemption from $455 per week ($23,660 annually) to $684 ($35,568 annually) per week. In addition, the new rule permits employers to credit some non-salary payments toward the new minimum salary requirement.

Cherundolo advises employers on virtually every type of employment matter, and defends claims of employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, wage and hour disputes, and other employment-related torts. With a well-rounded practice, she counsels clients on day-to-day business matters as they relate to the employer-employee relationship.
